These vases are built to mimic trees. I wanted to show the organic, contorting, twisting, and enchanting nature of these giants, reminding us of the history of tree and woodland representation in our past through myth, poetry, and art. Built in sections after moulding pieces of clay onto branches or bark found in my woods, I let the shapes guide the process and stop when the piece feels complete. each piece has its own expression and individual marks.

All pieces are handmade in a studio pottery environment. Due to the nature of small-batch, handcrafted ceramics, slight variations in size, shape, color, glaze finish, and surface details are inherent and to be expected. These natural inconsistencies are part of the character and uniqueness of each piece.
While I strive for consistency in form and design, I cannot guarantee exact replicas of previous works. Each item is individually crafted and will have subtle differences that make it one of a kind.
